| Titled "Funk Calls Me," it's an acid jazz piece
featuring the organ. It just so happened that one day when I was at
home, our keyboard player Koichi came by to pick up a wallet he'd
forgotten earlier. Koichi didn't stay long, but an hour later I found
myself in an instrument store buying a recorded collection of funk-drum
samples. Another hour later, I found I had written a tune just for
Koichi. |

| Last June, Take, who lives in Tokyo, went to LA to
see Noriko. A tune that the two worked on during that stay is now
uploaded on MP3.com. Titled "4500 Miles," it's a romantic, smooth jazz
piece with Take playing sax, and Noriko doing piano and keyboards as
well as vocals. Check out this "overseas collaboration". |

| A nice, groovy, acid jazz blues piece. The theme is
played out by a "perverted" sounding sax joined by a blues guitar,
which moves on to a guitar solo. Also contains a suggestion of big
band, with a five-sax soli. |

| This is the first work we've done with vocals. A
medium-rhythm, slightly bouncy R&B background sets off Eriko's
powerful, convincing vocals just right. Strings are used in abundance
to create an emotional sound. The lyrics are written by Eriko, the
melody by guitarist Mr. Minewaki. Takehisa on sax is a mere
side-player, but I did my best to wrap my sounds effectively around the
vocals. |

| Our band's first attempt at acid. The "J" in "J
Acid" stands neither for Japan nor Jazz, but for Jimi as in Jimi
Hendrix, because the tune is based on chords that he frequently used.
The arrangement incorporates a horn section to achieve a deep sounding
effect. |

lively performance, with an unusual interplay between the piano and a

fast-tempo rearrangement of a previously released work. Mid-tune, in a
non-accompanied part, I throw myself into an exciting sax solo. Also
